The brainchild of restaurant professionals Dan Jelensek and Michael Hinds who between them have played major roles in sustaining Barbados reputation for fine dining. Aqua is the embodiment of their experience to date as well as their ideas for making the dining experience even better. Aqua's menu is designed to suit a wide cross-section of palates. "We will set a new standard for excellence" says head chef Hinds.
The restaurant space has an unmatched natural ambience, with its unobstructed views of the coast and fresh breezes coming off the ocean. The interior has been re-designed by contemporary Architect Shawna Beechley to reflect the atmosphere and philosophy of Aqua.
"We have created a feel of symmetry and flow" says Dan. "We have used a lot of glass, brushed stainless steel, polished aluminum and distressed wood to create a brand new space. The traditonal Bajan wooden verandah has been replaced by glass to make patrons feel more connected with the sea" Commenting on the new layout of the restaurant, Dan adds "The downstairs area of Aqua is a lounge and dining facility where you can sit, drink, chill, enjoy a starter or share a main course"
